Ins and outs of driving and parking at Camp Sketchapod

We recognize that not all campers may be lodging at a comfortable walkable distance from Kansas State University (K-State). If you’re driving in, here is some information to help you with driving and parking around campus.

All about visitor parking permits

Odds are you may need a parking permit for at least one day while visiting K-State. Visitor permits are valid in the following areas: Any student, housing and faculty/staff parking lots, designated with the signs J, O, R, T, W or Z. Visitor permits are not valid in Service Vehicle areas, Reserved Parking areas or Meter Parking. You must abide by all posted parking and traffic regulations. Your license place must face the drive lane!

About timed and meter parking

Metered/timed parking is not the most cost efficient method of parking but could be very convenient. If you’ve forgotten to get permit, this is an easy way to park around campus without worry of getting ticketed. You will see a ParkMobile signs posted in the parking lots typically near the lot type identifier. You could scan the QR code and/or text “Park” to 77223 pay online. Last we checked, the cost for a whole day of parking from 8am-5pm was about $7-$8 dollars. For more info, on timed and meter parking, go here.
